Simply the most comfortable bass clarinet strap available on the market today. A 2” strap goes around your body, and hooks in the front. The strap is fully adjustable, fits under a jacket, and comes in a variety of colors: black, white, purple, rainbow, burgundy, gray, brown, navy, olive, red and forest green.

This is terrific. I feel very secure, but not confined in any way. This definitely helps me to feel more stable and also freer in my hands. Jerry Simas, Bass Clarinet, The San Francisco Symphony

It is much better than a conventional neck strap and takes a lot of the pressure off of your neck. It also keeps the bass clarinet more secure which frees you up to focus on the music. Joseph Beverly, Bass Clarinet, The Florida Orchestra

Even if you don’t currently use a strap, now you’ll want to use one – or more – of these beautifully colorful luxury Drapkin Bass Clarinet Straps to accessorize each and every one of your performances and rehearsals!! They are the ultimate in bass clarinet straps! John Bruce Yeh, Solo Bass Clarinet, Chicago Symphony Orchestra (1977-1980)

It makes total ergonomic sense anatomically. I’m surprised it took this long for the modification. The body and shoulders provide a much stronger support mechanism than the neck alone. Well done. J. Jones, DC

The MOST important accessory combination you can get!

This product combines the Woodwind Design carbon fiber sitting/standing bass clarinet peg with the patented Drapkin bass clarinet strap (black).

PATENTED BASS CLARINET STRAP

Watch the instruction video at: xb5.com/3

Simply the most comfortable bass clarinet strap available on the market today. A 2” strap goes around your body, and hooks in the front.
BASS CLARINET CARBON FIBER SITTING/STANDING PEG

Watch the instruction video at: xb5.com/4

Does your bass clarinet peg slip? Do you want to play standing but wish you had a peg to take the weight of the instrument. WoodWindDesign’s modular and adjustable carbon fiber peg provides great solutions.

It consists of two carbon tubes and one narrower but massive carbon rod. The 7 mm rod is the connection to the bass clarinet’s bell, and is also acting as “sitting” peg, length from 0 to 37 cm. Fully assembled with the two tubes, the length starts from 35 cm and goes up to 90 cm, which is much more than you need. In this way your peg is good for any playing position, seated or standing up, for short as well as tall players, with low Eb as well as low C bass clarinets, Paperclip contrabasses and contraltos.

This combo offers two landmark products together at one low price! Plus, since they are both so light, they can be mailed (in the US) First Class Mail!

Reed & Squeak tiny soft protective Bb clarinet case

I love tiny cases. I found one made by Loree (the oboe company) on 47th Street in NYC ages ago that was barely bigger than my instrument. But they take up a minimum of room, and fit inside the back of my backpack, which makes them great for airport travel. I couldn’t find a replacement, but then discovered this one from Reed & Squeak in the UK.

This is an extremely versatile and super small single lightweight Bb clarinet case. Made with a coated polyester on the outside and a soft protective fabric enhanced by polyethylene padding and stiff wooden boards with corrugated plastic boards inside. A folding padded flap with zip adds protection and space for further accessories. Weighs less than 4 lbs. with a wooden Bb clarinet and accessories inside. Ideal for either Bb or C Clarinets. Plenty of space for reeds etc. Shoulder strap with plastic shoulder pad included. Now with Eco-leather handles for a more comfortable grip. Mouthpiece pouch included.

Price includes shipping from the UK.

Replica of Harold Wright's Chedeville soprano clarinet mouthpiece using his original facing metrics. Exclusive to bassclarinet.net

HWC – this is a replica of Harold Wright’s Chedeville soprano clarinet mouthpiece, using Everett Matson’s measurements of Wright’s facing. If you play double lip embouchure, then this is the mouthpiece for you! It is a beautiful rendering by Bradford Behn of Harold Wright’s concept sound. This product is exclusive to bassclarinet.net, and is a joint effort between Michael Drapkin (bassclarinet.net), Bradford Behn (who manufactures the product) and Andy Stevens, clarinetist of the Colorado Symphony, who studied clarinet mouthpiece facing with Everett Matson and recorded Wright’s mouthpiece measurements.

From 1970 to 1993, Harold Wright was the principal clarinetist of the Boston Symphony. At the time, there were three principal clarinetists considered the top on the United States: Robert Marcellus in the Cleveland Orchestra, Stanley Drucker in the New York Philharmonic and Harold Wright in the Boston Symphony. Amongst my friends, Harold Wright was our role model. Gorgeous tone and unmatched expressiveness – his chamber music recordings are fantastic. He also played the clarinet using a double lip embouchure.

I have been playing Dan Johnston soprano clarinet mouthpieces since Stanley Hasty handed me one with the Z (Hasty) facing on it at Eastman in the 1970’s, but I am now using this one. Harold Wright was our role model for the tone we wanted to achieve on the clarinet. When I took lessons with Wright as a Tanglewood Fellow, I got to sit next to him and listen to his beautiful sound. He always exhorted us to “get that ring in our tone.” This mouthpiece helps achieves that goal! – Michael Drapkin

You can hear Harold Wright’s iconic recording of Schubert’s Shepherd on the Rock (Der Hirt auf dem Felsen) with Benita Valente, soprano and Rudolf Serkin, piano on YouTube at https://youtu.be/CwtQJLlxhac

TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Because this is a custom made product, this product may not be returned or a refund issued.
